Potraits

Never got a chance to take potrait of my own. Then I asked my sisters to help me to take using my camera. I had to bring out a mirror and check and ask my sister to half press, focus...haha....quite expensive for photographer and studio..so tried my own camera..but not using potrait lense..and without tripod..that's why a bit blur :D

Rain rain go away...

It's raining again. So as the mood. Helplessly I, got emotional when it rains. Many thoughts come running in my mind. Can't stop..so I'm waiting for the sun to come out again.
Glad that I have my guitar. It has been accompanying me when I was sick and through some unhappy and happy time. So it does during rainy days. :)
Since it's raining, I played the little "voodoo" song called Rain Rain Go Away. Whenever it rains, I thought of this song, then I sing in my heart, hoping that the rain will go away soon...
Forgive me for trying to bring away your cozy cooling rainy day. :)

Rain rain go away
Come again some other day
Rain rain go away
Bring my love a sunny day

Your Body is a Wonderland

Title may sound absurd, but it's guitar that I'm referring to. :) Have been having the thoughts of taking the photo of my guitar at home for quite sometime, until that day, I managed to pick up the cam and take a few shots. I've set up a small photoblog inside the glass house, thrashing my photos in.

Life, oh life

"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted. A tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubber band. And most of us live somewhere in the middle"
Morrie Schwartz

We're sometimes in the confusion of our age. What we are doing might not be what we wanted all the time. We might tend to ask many questions, over think about it that we're so obsessed with all the doubts.

We're standing in the middle, thinking which sides will win.
Morrie said, love wins. Love will always wins.
Hope that by thinking this way, it somehow will lift up your spirit, accept it and keep on fighting. :)

Sharing

You can't find the answers for the many things in life from the book. Things in life are complicated, I never realised about that before working life. Blogging has in fact turned out to be helpful, when you've got noone to speak to, or you just need a place, a space for you to express what is choked inside your lung or heart. Eventually, it turned out to be a place where I wanted to share things with all of you, and maybe my children next time, in case, I just couldn't remember to tell them everything. :)

So, here I am, wanted to share with you "Tuesdays with Morrie". It's this little book by Mitch Albom. Stated on the cover - An old man, a young man, and life's greatest lesson. I believe that when you see this sentence, you might think, well, another philosopher type of book, then might just toss it away. Not sure whether sharing quote and information in this book is illegal, but em, the book is not made of very good quality paper, it might have been eaten by silverfish after a few years. So I would take the risk. :)

I'm looking forward to spend the time writing it down in the next blog. :)

Runaway..

=============================

Got myself a love song compilation CD :)

After work today, I went to One U, planning to look for John Mayer's new album. The sales person told me that it's not out yet. End up, I was listening to Stevie Wonder's album and found the song 'My Cherie Amour', which I've been looking around. Then I saw another album with this song, but it's with other love songs. Very seldom I would be getting myself a love song compilation cd :) But then at last, I bought it. :)

2 CDs with all the familiar love songs. Quite a nice compilation. Soothing love song, for you to play at home and then sing along while you're ironing your clothes or doing your laundry. :D

It's 8 August, 2008

080808. an auspicious date for us, Chinese, and also a date to be remembered by everyone who has lived through this day. Needless to say, it's the Olympics 2008 at Beijing, China.

I will always remember the opening ceremony as the astounding one, full with surprises and chinese culture, and beautifully prepared, especially the most anticipated part, how the torch was lit up, really cool..In whichever way, it really does show Chinese can do it. :) I was in Hainan watching the Olympics over the tv, and kept on "wow wow wow..". Can't imagine if I ever get the chance to watch Olympics opening ceremony live at the stadium. Maybe, the next Olympic, which will be held at London. :P

I'm glad that all of us are able to see this event. :)
Let's celebrate this moment, go go olympics!

Night like this

11 something and yet, don't feel like sleeping. I don't like sleeping too early, always thought that it's a waste of time...funny though..Always wait till I get tired or sleepy, then I will be willing to climb up the bed and Zzzz...

Tonight, don't have mood for nothing. Suddenly, "Everytime I Close My Eyes" comes into my mind. I think it surely is an all time favourite love song to many people. Babyface has got his own unique song and this song has got it's own calming effect. Always hoping for a good hi-fi system, playing all kinds of songs, in my favourite room. :)

How nice would it be if I can have my speaker now with me, then I would be able to fill this whole room with the song, clear voice, and sharp saxaphone. It would be so so nice.

How's your night? :)

The Bucket List

In the movie, it was said that old time Egyptians believe that at the entrance to heaven, they will be asked 2 questions. These 2 questions will determine whether they are allowed to heaven.

"Do you find joy in your life?"
"Do you bring joy to anyone in your life?"

What will be your answer?

Living your life with what you want, getting what you want. We're flowing with the stream, adapting to changes, changing ourselves according to what most people need, and what the society is responding to. The peer pressure, the fear of being left behind. Is this what we care about? Or we have no choice, and that's what we should care about? Are we just the fishes, following the stream?

I think most people won't choose to know when they will die if given the chance. Do you? Maybe I will try to write myself a bucket list, (influenced by this movie) and see what I will get in the list and how long will it be :)

Quite a useful trick

Read about this. Not sure how true is it, as never tried :P We can use our body to boost signal. For example, we can use our hand on radio to boost or clarify the signal. Another thing which will help us is, when trying to locate our car at the carpark. Normally, we would tend to stretch your arm and press the alarm. To amplify your alarm signal, you can use body-as-extended-antenna trick by putting it under your chin and press the button. It is said to be able to boost the alarm signal and locate your car. Try it out. ;)

The Last Lecture from Randy Pausch

I've finished reading this book. And I would really recommend it to everybody. The word used is simple and easy to understand. Easily you will be going through a few chapters without knowing. Randy Pausch really keep it simple for the readers. The most important thing is, what he shared with the readers.

He's a professor in Carnegie Mellon Uni and is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His doctor told him that he would have 6 healthy months if he's lucky. This would be the saddest thing to accept and yet he took the chance to hold this presentation - The Last Lecture.

He talked about his childhood dreams, doubts that anyone of us would have faced, the life and the right attitude towards anything in life. I think I would not be able to describe how inspiring and how I've changed my thoughts over certain things, but one thing for sure, it has affected me in such a positive way.

Life is short that you might not even realised that you did not appreciate the gift, which is time. "Stupidly", I always reminded myself yet I admit that you and I do sometimes let it slips away too, right? But the most important thing is, we have the courage to take the effort to make things better. :)

To myself and everyone that I care about,
Take away the ego, cause it's not going to do any good.

Appreciate life, cause that's what we have at the present.

When you feel your life has no meaning, think about people who struggles to survive.

When you're giving up yourself, think about the people who never give up on you.

Take away the negative thoughts, cause it's not going to do any good.

Love yourself, cause that's how you pass the love to others.

When you feel troubled, put the trouble in the trouble bucket. Cause it will only pulls you down. Switch your attention to something you like. Only conquer it when your mood bar has gone green.

Be happy, cause that's what makes the world beautiful.
Cheers!

Nostalgic

I guess I would consider myself a little bit nostalgic. Are you? Sometimes you just heard a song, read a book, saw a photo and suddenly it seemed to have taken you back to some place, some time or some moments. It might be something that make you laugh, make you feel sad, or make you feel so happy that you wish that you can go back once again. But what we can do is, sharing the happiness, the story with someone. :)

Thai songs, they got me nostalgic. :P

Don't worry if you get nostalgic over something. At least it proves something. You're still remembering things.
You have been through time of your life.

Absolute.

Orangie

Three little kittens. Orangie, Blackie, Stripie. They were the newborns of my neighbour's cat. Have been waiting for the moments to be able to take some close up pictures of them. They have grown up so fast. These are the moments to be able to play around with them. Wait till they are big, they will no longer that active. Just managed to capture photos of orangie, as it seems to be more active than the other two. The look that he gave was so cool, as if he knew how to pose like the models.

2008 5 12 1428

These 3 days were declared as National Mourning Day. Most of the main websites in China have changed their websites to black and white. TV showing most updated news from the earthquake sites. I think I couldn't express how bad and sad the incident is as it must have affected us deep down, when looking at the news and pictures.

I see "Blood thicker than water". Everyone is saddened, everyone is trying their best to help, everyone is supportive to everybody, everyone is encouraging each other, everyone is praying to relieve the pain from the affected and wish that the difficulties will end very soon.

I thought about how some other people in this world, trying their best to create havoc, trying their best to cause pain to people around them, trying their best to create war and still never stop. In this disaster we see how people unite while there're people in this world who tried to seperate its own people. Is it because they are lucky not to have disasters to worry about? That they have the extra time to express their ego, express their dissatisfaction and their power? As the chinese saying,

Whoever we are, we should learn to appreciate. Appreciate that we have the heart, the salvation and the hands which can help and build. Appreciate the life and time that we have. :)

Let's pray for the best.

In one of those nights

Taken one year ago. One of the photos that I've managed to take of this special building. The view up here looks so quiet where the market down the State Tower is very much a busy place in Bangkok. It reminded me of the quiet nights where I can simply see this building from my room. It reminded me of the ambience that I love, with the jazz and the winds.

Paradox

Dad passed me a photostated paper when I was at home that day. On top, it's written, "The Paradox of Our Time". He said that the paper was by his colleague, who had photostated a few copies and distributed around. He asked me to read it. Since it's highly recommended to be read by this uncle who take the effort to distribute it around, I think there must be something in the text that he somehow agrees with. So, I read... :)

Paradox. Kind of complicated it maybe.

Anyway, here it is, if you're interested. :P

Lazy Sunday

It has been raining recently. The road is quite dirty which makes it hard to walk. It was gloomy just now, and the sun has just come out to "energize" the people on the road. I always like sunny day.

Try Jack Johnson. It goes very well with this lazy sunday.. :)

Now Everyone Can Fly

Soaring across the land...

Through the clouds...

In the midst of Turbulence...

In the clouds...

Looking out the window...

Quite glad that they sky is quite blue that I'm able to take these photos. Blue sky, white clouds, nice.
